Andrew Feinberg

White House Correspondent@AndrewFeinberg

Andrew Feinberg is a Washington, DC based correspondent for The Independent specialising in coverage of the White House, Congress, and US politics. His January 2021 report revealing that the Trump White House's social media monitoring operation would have provided Mr Trump's aides with advance warning of plans for violence on January 6 was cited by House Democratic impeachment managers during Mr Trump's second impeachment trial, and in December 2021 he was one of the first to report on the contents of the now-infamous "coup powerpoint" laying out Trump allies' plans to prevent Joe Biden from taking office. In 2020, he was first to report on a January 2017 meeting between then-president-elect Donald Trump and African-American leaders — including Martin Luther King III — which one aide to Mr Trump called "the most disastrous outreach meeting in the history of presidential transition". Andrew's work has also appeared in such publications as Politico Magazine, Newsweek, Washington Business Journal, The Hill, and Communications Daily. He is a member of the White House Correspondents' Association and lives in the DC area with his Corgi research assistant, Ginger Breadloaf.
