Las infecciones por covid-19 siguen afectando a los altos cargos de Washington DC, ya que la presidenta de la Cámara de Representantes, Nancy Pelosi, ha sido la última en anunciar un resultado positivo de covid-19 el jueves.

El anuncio de la presidenta se produjo justo antes de su conferencia de prensa semanal, que fue cancelada en respuesta.

Pelosi “por el momento no presenta síntomas”, tuiteó un alto asesor, y ya había recibido una vacuna de refuerzo.

“La presidenta cuenta con esquema de vacunación completo más refuerzo, y está agradecida por la sólida protección que le ha proporcionado la vacuna”, señaló Drew Hammill.

Otros que han dado positivo en los últimos días son el fiscal general Merrick Garland, que actualmente está en el punto de mira por el papel del Departamento de Justicia en la persecución de casos relacionados con el 6 de enero, y los votos de la Cámara para declarar en desacato a antiguos miembros de la administración Trump.

La alcaldesa de Washington DC, Muriel Bowser, también anunció que había dado positivo el jueves.

Funcionarios de la Casa Blanca indicaron que las noticias relativas a los procedimientos de análisis de Biden estaban por llegar.
