El gabinete de seguridad de Israel aprobó un alto el fuego unilateral para poner fin a una operación militar de 11 días en la Franja de Gaza, según informes de los medios israelíes y un funcionario de Hamas.

Un funcionario de Hamas dijo a Reuters que Hamas e Israel entrarán en una tregua "mutua y simultánea" a partir de las 2 am del viernes (11 pm GMT del jueves).

Mientras tanto, los medios israelíes informaron que el gabinete de seguridad del primer ministro Benjamin Netanyahu había aprobado la tregua, sobre la base de lo que un funcionario calificó de "silencio a cambio de silencio".

La emisora pública israelí Kan dijo que la lucha se detendría de inmediato, mientras que otros canales de televisión dijeron que entraría en vigencia a las 2 am hora local.
