José Berríos repartió 13 ponches, la mayor cantidad en su vida, a lo largo de siete innings ante su equipo anterior, y los Azulejos de Toronto lo respaldaron con tres vuelacercas para triturar el sábado 12-3 a los Mellizos de Minnesota.

El dominicano Vladimir Guerrero, el mexicano Alejandro Kirk y Bo Bichette dispararon sendos cuadrangulares por Toronto, que ganó por novena ocasión en 10 duelos.

Por su parte, el cubano Lourdes Gurriel Jr. añadió tres imparables, y los Azulejos establecieron sus mejores cifras de la campaña en carreras y hits (16).

El dominicano Jorge Polanco sacudió un jonrón por Minnesota, que ha perdido tres de 12 compromisos desde que montó una racha de seis victorias.

Berríos (4-2) toleró dos anotaciones y tres hits. El boricua igualó a Clayton Kershaw de los Dodgers y a Eric Lauer de Milwaukee con la segunda mayor cantidad de ponches durante un encuentro de esta campaña.

El dominicano Sandy Alcántara ponchó a 14 Bravos de Atlanta el 28 de mayo.

La derrota fue para Dylan Bundy (3-3).
