La Asociación Nacional del Rifle, un grupo de defensa de armas sin fines de lucro, acusó a sus ejecutivos de usar indebidamente los fondos de la organización para el enriquecimiento personal, según una declaración de impuestos obtenida por el Washington Post.

Seis altos funcionarios utilizaron fondos de la NRA para "beneficios excesivos", según el documento de 2019, que también dice que las acusaciones aún están en revisión.

A principios de este año, el fiscal general de Nueva York presentó una demanda en la que acusaba al director ejecutivo de la NRA, Wayne LaPierre, ya otros de utilizar fondos de la NRA para pagar sueldos y cuentas de gastos abultados.
