Las autoridades en Massachusetts acusaron de homicidio por imprudencia al conductor de una SUV que se estrelló contra el escaparate de una tienda Apple, con el saldo de un muerto y al menos 16 heridos, se informó el martes.

La presentación de cargos a Bradley Rein, de 53 años, tendrá lugar en las próximas horas y es resultado de la investigación realizada por las policías estatal y local del choque en Hingham, al sureste de Boston, dijo la fiscalía del condado de Plymouth.

Rein fue arrestado el lunes y la audiencia tendrá lugar en Hingham, dijo la fiscalía. No está claro si cuenta con un abogado defensor.

Un Toyota 4Runner modelo 2019 se estrelló contra el vidrio del escaparate el lunes y arrolló a varias personas. El fallecido fue identificado como Kevin Bradley, de 65 años, residente en Nueva Jersey.

Apple dijo en un comunicado que estaba “consternada por los sucesos lamentables en Apple de la calle Derby y la trágica muerte de un profesional que se encontraba en la tienda supervisando trabajos recientes de construcción”.

En la ventana quedó abierto un agujero enorme. La tienda había abierto alrededor de una hora antes del choque.
