Swedish House Mafia y The Weeknd tomarán el lugar de Kanye West en el próximo festival Coachella.

El rapero canceló el show que daría en la noche de clausura 11 días antes del evento, que tendrá lugar en California del 15 al 17 y del 22 al 24 de abril.

El supergrupo de música dance y el cantante de “Blinding Lights” se presentarán en el espacio reservado para West de la noche del domingo, encabezando el festival junto a Harry Styles y Billie Eilish.

“Espero con ansias este momento con Swedish House Mafia y The Weeknd cerrando el espacio del domingo por la noche este año”, comentó Paul Tollett, presidente y director general de Coachella.

“Coachella tiene una relación especial con Abel [The Weeknd] y estoy muy agradecido de tener esta próxima actuación con estos artistas icónicos en el mismo escenario”, agregó.

Esta será la segunda vez que The Weeknd encabece el cartel del festival del desierto, después de la primera vez que lo hizo, en 2018, y su tercera aparición, desde su debut en 2012.

A principios de enero, cuando se lanzó por primera vez el cartel de la edición 2022, Swedish House Mafia fue mencionado al fondo con una fuente del tamaño de los headliners, aunque no se especificó una fecha.

Coachella se lleva a cabo en Indio, California, del 15 al 17 y del 22 al 24 de abril.
