Zverev eliminado temprano en Múnich, Tabilo derrota a Garín

El máximo cabeza de serie Alexander Zverev se despidió a las primeras de cambio en el Abierto de Múnich al caer el miércoles 6-3, 6-2 ante el adolescente danés Holger Rune.

En un duelo de chilenos, Alejandro Tabilo se impuso 6-3 6-4 ante Cristian Garín para acceder a los octavos de final del torneo en arcilla.

Zverev, dos veces campeón del certamen en la ciudad bávara, recibió pase directo a la segunda ronda. Pero el campeón olímpico alemán no pudo contra un rival de 18 años y actual número 70 del ranking.,

“Ha sido mi peor partido en años”, dijo Zverev. “Estaba muy nervioso previo al partido. Llevaba mucho tiempo sin jugar en Alemania frente a espectadores. Hubiera perdido contra cualquiera del cuadro hoy”.

Zverev había alcanzado los cuartos de final en sus últimas cinco presentaciones en Múnich, racha que incluyó títulos consecutivos en 2017 y 2018.

Rune se apuntó su primera victoria ante un jugador del Top 10 en su carrera.

El rival de turno de Tabilo será el francés Hugo Gaston.
