El encuentro se dio por concluido después de ocho entradas.

Nueva York tenía una ventaja de 3-2 en el séptimo inning, antes de anotar cuatro carreras, incluidas tres con el jonrón de Judge. El venezolano Torres disparó un cuadrangular de dos carreras durante un racimo de ocho anotaciones en el octavo episodio.

El cubano Néstor Cortés (1-0) toleró una carrera limpia y ocho imparables a lo largo de cinco episodios.
