Los precios de las acciones caían en picada el lunes en la mañana al inicio de transacciones en la Bolsa de Valores de Nueva York debido a temores de inflación.

La tendencia acerca al índice al S&P 500 a un llamado mercado en contracción, es decir, cuando sufre una contracción de 20% comparado a su cima alcanzada este año.

El índice caía en 2,3% en la mañana en medio de temores de que la inflación será más difícil de combatir que lo anticipado.

La Reserva Federal se reunirá esta semana y los inversionistas anticipan que anunciará medidas más agresivas para mantener a raya la inflación.

Pero también hay temores de que el banco central estadounidense tome medidas demasiado fuertes para enfriar la economía y cause accidentalmente una recesión.

Los rendimientos de los bonos iban en alza.
