Las acciones en la Bolsa de Nueva York iniciaron la jornada del miércoles con comportamiento mixto atentas a una posible alza en las tasas de interés por parte de la Reserva Federal. Además, los precios del petróleo subían mientras Europa toma medidas contra el petróleo ruso.

El crudo subía 3,9% después de que Europa dio un paso más cerca de imponer un embargo al petróleo ruso debido a la guerra contra Ucrania. Cualquier embargo podría agotar los suministros de petróleo y hacer que los precios suban aún más.

El intercambio de acciones estaba prácticamente inmóvil a la espera del anuncio de la Fed. Los analistas prevén que el banco central estadounidense elevará medio punto porcentual su tasa de referencia —el doble de lo habitual— para controlar la inflación.

Al iniciar operaciones, índice S&P 500 bajaba 0,5%, el promedio industrial Dow Jones caía 0,1% y Nasdaq retrocedía 1,3%.

El rendimiento de los bonos del Tesoro a 10 años subía a 3,0% desde 2,96% el martes. No cotizaba a ese nivel desde finales de 2018.

Airbnb subía 3,7% y Starbucks ganaba 5,6% después de reportar buenos resultados.
