Luke Voit pegó un jonrón de tres carreras en el sexto y Sean Manaea tuvo seis buenos innings de labor, en una remontada de los Padres de San Diego para imponerse 4-3 el sábado a los Diamondbacks de Arizona.

La victoria les garantiza a los padres su primera serie desde que barrieron en tres juegos a los Diamondbacks entre el 20 y el 23 de junio. El tercer juego de esta serie se disputa el domingo.

Manaea (5-4) admitió tres carreras y siete hits, con tres ponches y dos boletos. Taylor Rogers lanzó un noveno en blanco para firmar su 26to salvamento, la segunda cifra más alta de la MLB.

Carson Kelly conectó un cuadrangular de dos carreras para los Diamondbacks. Tyler Gilbert lanzó cinco innings y admitió cinco hits y tres carreras limpias, pero no apareció en la decisión. Todavía no ha ganado esta temporada.

Arizona llegó 3-1 arriba al sexto y Gilbert parecía tener la situación bajo control. Sin embargo, el pitcher admitió un doble de Jake Cronneworth y dio pasaporte a Manny Machado. Gilbert fue relevado por Noé Ramirez (2-3), que cargó con la derrota.
