La UEFA ordenó el cierre de una sección de las tribunas del estadio Atlético de Madrid el miércoles, en el duelo de vuelta de los cuartos de final de la Liga de Campeones contra el Manchester City.

El ente rector del fútbol europeo tramitó con urgencia un expediente abierto por el saludo nazi de un seguidor del club español durante el partido de ida jugado la semana pasada en el estadio Etihad.

El aficionado fue captado cuando hacía el gesto nazi en la derrota 1-0 que el Atlético sufrió el martes pasado.

La UEFA anunció el viernes la apertura del caso contra el Atlético por “conducta disminatoria”.

El castigo fue confirmado el lunes por el comité de apelación de la UEFA.

La sanción incluye el cierre de por lo menos 5.000 butacas del estadio Wanda Metropolitano. También se le ordena al club rojiblanco desplegar una pancarta con la frase #NoToRacism.
