Trevor Story logró tres jonrones, cuatro hits y siete remolcadas para que los Medias Rojas de Boston revirtieran un déficit de cuatro carreras y doblegaran el jueves 12-6 a los Marineros de Seattle.

Story disparó un par de vuelacercas de dos carreras y uno más de tres anotaciones. Ese último jonrón llegó en el octavo episodio.

Asimismo, aportó un sencillo que produjo la carrera de la ventaja en el sexto inning, con ayuda de un mal tiro. En su primera temporada de un contrato por seis años y 140 millones de dólares, Story había bateado apenas dos vuelacercas en 32 duelos antes del jueves.

Jackie Bradley Jr. añadió un doblete productor que estrelló la pelota en el “Monstruo Verde”, y Boston anotó nueve carreras sin respuesta, para cosechar su quinta victoria en sus últimos siete compromisos.

Tanner Houck (3-3) aportó cuatro innings de relevo en blanco por Boston, luego que Seattle castigó al abridor Rich Hill durante los primeros dos capítulos, para tomar la ventaja por 4-0.

La derrota fue para el novato George Kirby (0-1).

Por los Marineros, el dominicano Julio Rodríguez de 5-3 con una anotada y una producida. Los venezolanos Eugenio Suárez de 5-2 con dos anotadas, Luis Torrens de 4-1.
