Kyle Schwarber disparó un jonrón de dos carreras y J.T. Realmuto sacudió uno de tres para los Filis de Filadelfia, que el jueves propiciaron la primera derrota de Joe Musgrove esta temporada y frenaron una seguidilla de tres tropiezos al imponerse 6-2 a los Padres de San Diego.

Tras abandonar la lista de bajas por COVID-19 antes en el día, Musgrove (8-1) vio como su efectividad subía de 1.59, la segunda más baja de las mayores, a 2.12. Lanzó cuatro entradas en blanco hasta el sencillo remolcador de Odúbel Herrera que igualó la pizarra a 1-1 en la quinta.

Los Filis aprovecharon la ocasión y castigaron a Musgrove en el sexto. El derecho concedió seis carreras y siete hits en seis episodios, con apenas un ponche y un boleto. Fue su primer juego con más de dos carreras limpias esta temporada.

Ese gran inning dio la victoria Ranger Suárez (6-4), que trabajó hasta el octavo por primera vez este curso. El venezolano admitió dos anotaciones y siete hits en siete innings y un tercio, con tres abanicados y dos pasaportes.

Por los Filis, el venezolano Odúbel Herrera de 4-1, con una remolcada.

Por los Padres, el colombiano Jorge Alfaro de 4-1, con una producida. El venezolano José Azocar de 3-0. El dominicano Sergio Alcántara de 3-0.
