Taylor Walls y Ji-Man Choi sacudieron jonrones, los Rays anotaron dos carreras en la séptima entrada --con cuatro bases por bolas y un lanzamiento que golpeó a un bateador-- y Tampa Bay derrotó el domingo 4-2 a los Yanquis de Nueva York.

Con el resultado, ambos equipos quedaron 2-2 en su serie.

Walls, que arrastraba una baja efectividad ofensiva de 34-1, disparó su cuadrangular con cuenta de 3-1 tras conectar una bola rápida al dominicano Luis Severino (3-1) para la ventaja 2-1 en la quinta entrada y después hizo una gran jugada defensiva en la segunda base para sellar el octavo inning.

Con un corredor en la antesala, Walls se movió hacia la posición del torpedero en la intermedia y se lanzó para atrapar un roletazo de Aaron hicks. Walls se levantó de inmediato y lanzó para poner out a Hicks por casi nada en la primera almohadilla.

Walls había dicho el jueves en la noche que los Yanquis eran “vencibles” y que los Rays no iban a flaquear.

El venezolano Gleyber Torres conectó tres indiscutibles, incluido un jonrón en el segundo episodio contra Shane McClanahan (5-2).
