Rayo Vallecano vence 1-0 a Espanyol y sigue en zona europea

Un autogol del zaguero uruguayo Leandro Cabrera en el arranque del segundo tiempo terció el domingo a favor del Rayo Vallecano para conseguir una victoria 1-0 como local ante el Espanyol que le mantiene prendido en la lucha por las plazas a las copas europeas.

El conjunto madrileño se adelantó a los 54 minutos con el gol en propia de puerta de Cabrera. El central uruguayo quiso despejar un centro desde la izquierda de Álvaro García, pero anidó el balón en su propia red.

Después de un mes de ausencia por culpa de una lesión, el delantero colombiano Radamel Falcao García reapareció para jugar los últimos 15 minutos del partido con el Rayo. Falcao no jugaba desde sufrió una lesión muscular en la derrota 2-1 contra el Real Madrid el 6 de noviembre.

La victoria este domingo dejó al Rayo con 27 puntos y se ubica en la sexta plaza, cuatro unidades por encima del Barcelona y dos detrás del Atlético de Madrid y la Real Sociedad, cuarto y quinto, respectivamente.

Espanyol, que acabó con 10 hombres por la expulsión de Fran Mérida en los descuentos, marcha noveno con 20 puntos.
