Cal Quantrill finalizó la temporada invicto en casa, para mejorar a una foja de 14-0 en su carrera dentro del Progressive Field, y los Guardianes de Cleveland se impusieron el martes 5-3 sobre los Reales de Kansas City, gracias a un jonrón de dos carreras de Owen Miller.

Quantrill (15-5) estaba en peligro de que su racha imbatible en casa se cortara, antes de que Miller consiguiera su garrotazo ante Daniel Lynch (4-13), lo que coronó un ataque de cinco carreras de Cleveland en el quinto acto.

La racha de 14 victorias de Quantrill es la mayor en la historia del parque. Igualó la más larga para un pitcher en cualquier estadio desde 1901.

Vic Raschi ostentó una foja de 14-0 en el Comiskey Park de Chicago, de 1947 al 55.

El dominicano José Ramírez aportó un doble de dos carreras, mientras que el venezolano Andrés Giménez bateó un sencillo productor en la quinta entrada.

Pese a permitir una carrera en el noveno episodio, el cerrador dominicano Emmanuel Clase logró su 42do salvamento, con lo que es líder de las mayores.

Los Guardianes desconocen todavía si recibirán a Seattle o a Tampa Bay en la serie de comodines que comienza el viernes.

Por los Reales, el venezolano Edward Olivares de 3-0.

Por los Guardianes, los dominicanos Amed Rosario de 4-3 con una anotada, Ramírez de 4-1 con una anotada y dos impulsadas, Óscar González de 4-0. Los venezolanos Giménez de 3-1 con una anotada y una empujada, Gabriel Arias de 3-1.
