Los Patriots de Nueva Inglaterra regresaron a los playoffs gracias a tres pases de touchdown del quarterback novato Mac Jones y dos anotaciones terrestres de Damien Harris y Rhamondre Stevenson cada uno en una victoria el domingo de 50-10 sobre los Jaguars de Jacksonville.

El triunfo de los Patriots (10-6) rompieron una racha de dos derrotas en fila y dieron a Bill Belichick su 20ma temporada de 10 juegos ganados como entrenador en jefe, empatado al legendario Don Shula con la mayor cantidad en la historia de la NFL. La derrota de Miami en Tennessee aseguró el primer pase de Nueva Inglaterra a la postemporada desde que Tom Brady se fue a Tampa Bay tras la campaña 2019.

Los Jaguars (2-14) sufrieron su octava derrota consecutiva, incluyendo tres seguidas desde el despido del entrenador en jefe Urban Meyer. Fue su 17mo descalabro en fila como visitantes, la racha más larga en la liga.

Jones terminó con 22 pases completos en 30 intentos para 227 yardas y estableció un récord de la franquicia de pases de touchdown por un novato con 21. Stevenson terminó con 107 yardas en 19 acarreos. Harris corrió nueve veces para 35 yardas antes de salir en la segunda mitad con una lesión en tendón de la corva.
