Cristiano Ronaldo sigue siendo la nota rescatable dentro de una temporada para el olvido del Manchester United.

El astro portugués llegó a los 18 goles en la Liga Premier al convertir un penal en la victoria el lunes por 3-0 ante Brentford.

También le anularon un gol en Old Trafford por una estrechísima posición adelantada. El United ofreció una de sus mejores actuaciones de la temporada, en su último partido en casa. Bruno Fernandes y Raphael Varane firmaron los otros tantos.

La victoria mantiene en vida — al menos matemáticamente — al United en la lucha por quedar entre los cuatro primeros y clasificarse a la próxima Liga de Campeones. El equipo marcha en el sexto puesto.

Al United le quedan apenas dos partidos en el torneo, y se encuentra cinco puntos por debajo del cuarto Arsenal y tres detrás de Tottenham. Ambos rivales tienen que disputar cuatro partidos.

Cristiano, quien ha marcado en cada uno de sus últimos cuatro partidos, es el tercer máximo anotador de la liga inglesa, escoltando a Mohamed Salah (22) de Liverpool y Son Heung-min (19) de Tottenham.
