Aroldis Chapman regaló un boleto con las bases llenas en el undécimo inning para que entrara la carrera con que los Orioles de Baltimore superaron el viernes 2-1 a los Yanquis de Nueva York.

Los Yanquis no anotaron en los innings extra, y Baltimore finalmente logró remolcar a su corredor automático en la parte baja de la undécima entrada. Anthony Bemboom y el dominicano Kelvin Gutiérrez gestionaron sendos boletos de Clarke Schmidt (0-2) con un out.

Una noche después de que sólo cuatro de sus 16 lanzamientos fueron strikes ante Toronto, el cubano Chapman subió al montículo y ponchó a Cedric Mullins, antes de dar un pasaporte al mexicano Ramón Urías mediante un slider con cuenta llena.

La pelota se quedó apenas arriba.

El manager de Nueva York, Aaron Boone, fue expulsado por el umpire del plato Tom Hallion, al concluir el encuentro.

Lor Orioles ganaron pese a irse de 15-1 con corredores en posición de anotar. En el undécimo inning no necesitaron hit.

Joey Krehbiel (1-0) consiguió su primera victoria en las mayores, como parte de una actuación estelar del bullpen de Baltimore, que ha lucido sorpresivamente eficaz en esta campaña.

Por los Yanquis, los venezolanos Gleyber Torres de 3-0, Marwin González de 1-0.

Por los Orioles, el mexicano Urías de 5-0 con una remolcada. Los venezolanos Anthony Santander de 4-0, Robinson Chirinos de 3-2. Los dominicanos Jorge Mateo de 5-1 con una remolcada, Gutiérrez de 1-0.
