Edward Olivares y Drew Waters batearon sendos jonrones, Jonathan Heasley lanzó pelota de dos hits a lo largo de seis capítulos y los Reales de Kansas City vencieron el jueves 4-1 a los Mellizos de Minnesota para completar la barrida en la serie de tres juegos.

El venezolano Salvador Perez empujó también una carrera por Kansas City. Ha producido al menos una en siete duelos consecutivos.

Brad Keller finalizó con una labor del bullpen, de tres hits sin aceptar hit, para conseguir el primer salvamento en su carrera.

Kansas City no propinaba una barrida en una serie de tres juegos desde julio de 2021. Al lograrlo ante los Mellizos, los dejó prácticamente sin esperanzas de avanzar a los playoffs.

Hace apenas dos semanas, Minnesota estaba plenamente involucrado en la contienda dentro de la División Central de la Liga Americana, pero perdió ocho de nueve compromisos en su gira.

El novato Josh Winder (4-5) permitió tres carreras y seis hits en seis innings.

Heasley (4-8) retiró a sus primeros 10 adversarios, ponchando a cuatro de cinco. Tras aceptar un sencillo del puertorriqueño Carlos Correa, puso out a sus siguientes dos rivales, con lo que puso fin al inning.

Por los Mellizos, el venezolano Luis Arráez de 4-1. Los boricuas Correa de 4-1, José Miranda de 4-0. El colombiano Gio Urshela de 4-0. El dominicano Gilberto Celestino de 2-0.

Por los Reales, los venezolanos Pérez de 3-1 con una empujada, Olivares de 3-1 con una anotada y una remolcada.
