El Napoli rescató un poco del orgullo al aplastar el sábado por 6-1 al Sassuolo y consolidarse en el tercer puesto de la Serie A y recuperarse de una miserable racha.

Dries Mertens anotó un doblete, así como goles de Kalidou Koulibaly, Victor Osimhen, Amir Rrahmani y el mexicano Hirving Lozano en una desenfrenada actuación den Napoli, que llegó a estar arriba 4-0 después de 21 minutos.

Maxime Lopez anotó un tardío gol de consuelo para el Sassuolo, que se mantiene a mitad de la tabla.

El Napoli peleaba por el título de la Serie A con los clubes de Milan hasta hace poco, pero dos derrotas y un empate vio evaporar sus esperanzas de llevarse el scudetto. El triunfo los dejó cuatro puntos detrás del líder AC Milan, que recibe el domingo a la Fiorentina, y cuatro unidades arriba de la Juventus, que enfrenta al colero Venezia.

El Napoli seguí aturdido tras el encuentro del fin de semana pasado ante el Empoli. Tras liderar 2-0, los de casa anotaron tres goles en los últimos 10 minutos para ganar 3-2.

BATALLA POR EL DESCENSO

Cagliari se desliza cada más hacia la zona de descenso tras perder por séptima ocasión en ocho encuentros.

Tras perder 2-1 en casa ante el Hellas Verona, el Cagliari se ubica a tres puntos de los tres últimos lugares. El Genoa podría empatar en puntos si vence en el derbi a la Sampdoria, que igualmente está batallando.

La Lazio visita más tarde al Spezia.
