Lane Thomas sacudió un par de dobletes productores y los Nacionales de Washington salieron de su bache ofensivo al vencer el domingo 8-2 a los Cerveceros de Milwaukee, que perdieron al derecho Freddy Peralta por rigidez en un hombro en la cuarta entrada.

El dominicano Peralta (3-2) abandonó el partido tras permitir un doble productor de Thomas durante una ofensiva de seis carreras de los Nacionales en el cuarto inning.

Esa entrada se convirtió en la que más carreras han conseguido los Nacionales durante la campaña y por otro lado en la que más anotaciones han permitido los Cerveceros en un solo episodio esta temporada.

Antes del partido, los Nacionales habían perdido siete de sus últimos nueve encuentros y habían anotado un total de seis carreras en esos descalabros. Sin embargo, el domingo consiguieron una ventaja inicial de 8-0 y ganaron fácilmente.

Por los Nacionales, los venezolanos César Hernández de 4-2, dos anotadas, una producida, Keibert Ruiz de 5-1, una anotada, una impulsada. Los dominicanos Juan Soto de 5-1, dos remolcadas; Nelson Cruz de 3-2, una empujada y Maikel Franco de 4-2, dos anotadas. El cubano Yadiel Hernández de 4-2, una anotada.

Por los Cerveceros, el venezolano Omar Narváez de 4-0.
