Charlie Morton lució intratable en el montículo, Matt Olson y Robbie Grossman sacudieron sendos vuelacercas, y los Bravos de Atlanta hilvanaron su octava victoria, al blanquear el martes 5-0 a los Mets de Nueva York, líderes de la División Este de la Liga Nacional.

Menos de dos semanas después de perder cuatro de cinco compromisos en Nueva York, los Bravos no han caído desde entonces. Han ganado dos juegos en fila sobre los Mets en el Truist Park, para acercárseles a tres juegos y medio en la división.

Nueva York ha sido superado por 18-1 en la primera mitad de la serie de cuatro juegos.

Morton (6-5) toleró tres hits y regaló un boleto en seis innings y dos tercios. Recetó 12 ponches para llegar a la decena por cuarta vez en la campaña.

R.J. Alvarez (0-1), convocado en la jornada desde la sucursal de la Triple A en Syracuse, permitió un jonrón de 413 pies a Grossman, el segundo bateador a quien enfrentó como relevista.
