El colombiano Gio Urshela rompió el empate con un sencillo en la novena entrada para completar la remontada de Minnesota de un déficit de seis carreras, y los Mellizos derrotaron el domingo 7-6 a los Reales de Kansas City.

Perdiendo 6-0, los Mellizos anotaron cinco veces en el octavo episodio, coronado por un jonrón de dos carreras de Kyle Garlick.

El dominicano Jorge Polanco negoció pasaporte a Josh Staumont (1-1) para iniciar el ataque en el noveno inning, Max Kepler conectó un doblete y otro dominicano, Gary Sánchez, empató la pizarra con su segundo elevado de sacrificio en dos entradas. Con dos outs, Urshela pegó el sencillo de la ventaja.

El relevista Tyler Duffey (2-2) se llevó la victoria y el derecho dominicano Jhoan Duran lanzó una novena entrada en blanco para su tercer salvamento.
