Médico: Regresan síntomas de Biden por rebrote de COVID-19

La tos del presidente estadounidense Joe Biden ha regresado ahora que el mandatario enfrenta un rebrote de COVID-19, dijo su médico el martes, aunque aseguró que el mandatario “continúa sintiéndose bien”.

El médico de la Casa Blanca, Kevin O’Connor, ofreció una actualización sobre la condición del presidente, que sigue dando positivo a coronavirus. El doctor indicó que Biden “sigue sin fiebre” y que su pulso, presión sanguínea, tasa respiratoria y saturación de oxígeno “siguen enteramente normales”.

Aun así, Biden tendrá que seguir en aislamiento hasta a menos el jueves, de acuerdo con las directrices de los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de las Enfermedades (CDC), y quizás por más tiempo bajo protocolos de la Casa Blanca, si sigue dando positivo.

El caso del rebrote de Biden —el presidente volvió a dar positivo el sábado, apenas tres días después de haber sido autorizado a salir de aislamiento luego de dos resultados negativos el martes y el miércoles— le ha dejado deseoso de volver a su agenda normal.

Durante su primera ronda con el virus, Biden, de 79 años, fue tratado con el medicamento antiviral Paxlovid y sus síntomas principales fueron moquera, fatiga y tos, dijo su médico.
