Un doblete en la segunda mitad de Mason Greenwood y otro tanto en los descuentos del uruguayo de Edinson Cavani ayudaron a que el Manchester United reduzca la ventaja del Manchester City en el liderato de la Liga Premier a ocho puntos al imponerse el domingo 3-1 ante Burnley.

Parecía que iba a ser un día frustrante para los locales.

Luego que Greenwood abrió el marcador a los 48 minutos, James Tarkowski empató de un inmediato para un Burnley que no había perdido en sus últimos cuatro duelos en Old Trafford.

Pero el United restableció la ventaja con un remate de Greenwood a los 84 minutos y el suplente Cavani.

El United mantiene viva la remota esperanza del United de alcanzar a sus vecinos a falta de seis jornadas de la liga inglesa.

Burnley quedó seis puntos por encima de la zona de descenso tras el empate 1-1 a primera hora de Fulham contra Arsenal.

Eddie Nketiah anotó en el séptimo minuto de la prolongación para negarle a Fulham una victoria que necesitaba imperiosamente para salvarse del descenso.

Nketiah quien había ingresado por Alexandre Lacazette a los 70 minutos, empujó un rebote en el primer palo. Fulham se había adelantado a los 59 mediante un penal ejecutado por Josh Maja.
