Corey Kluber y Gerrit Cole libraron un duelo parejo durante siete innings, antes de que los Rays de Tampa Bay anotaran un par de carreras que les permitieron vencer el sábado 3-1 a los Yanquis de Nueva York.

Se cortó así una racha de cuatro victorias de los Yanquis.

El cubano Yandy Díaz bateó un hit dentro del cuadro para romper el empate en el séptimo capítulo, y el dominicano Manuel Margot extendió a 15 juegos su racha pegando de hit, por medio de un sencillo en la octava entrada.

Kluber aceptó una carrera y tres imparables, sin dar boletos y con cinco ponches. En mayo pasado, el pitcher dos veces premiado con el Cy Young lanzó un juego sin hit por los Yanquis ante Texas.

Cole repartió 10 ponches. Permitió una anotación y dos hits en una actuación que incluyó tres boletos.

J.P. Feyereisen (4-0) se llevó la victoria con su 19no relevo consecutivo sin aceptar anotación. Colin Poche resolvió el noveno episodio y consiguió su segundo salvamento en dos oportunidades.

Por los Yanquis, el venezolano Gleyber Torres de 3-0. El dominicano Miguel Andújar de 3-0.
