Es la segunda visita del pitcher a la lista de los lesionados en esta temporada. Kershaw, de 34 años, estuvo fuera de combate previamente por una inflamación articular en la pelvis.

Tres veces galardonado con el Cy Young de la Liga Nacional, Kershaw calentaba antes del quinto episodio del juego del jueves, que los Dodgers ganaron por 5-3 a San Francisco. De pronto, hizo una mueca y señaló hacia la cueva.

Los Dodgers convocaron al derecho dominicano Reyes Moronta y enviaron a las menores al jardinero James Outman.

Moronta tiene una foja de 0-0 y una efectividad de 4.67 con 20 ponches en 17 innings y un tercio. Outman bateó de 13-6 con un cuadrangular y tres impulsadas en cuatro compromisos con Los Ángeles.
