Juventus tuvo pérdidas sin precedentes por 254,3 millones de euros (246 millones de dólares) en el ejercicio 2021-2022, según cifras difundidas el viernes durante la reunión de la junta directiva, lo que se suma a la reciente mala racha del club en la cancha.

Por quinto año consecutivo, la Juve registró números rojos que ahora rebasan en 44,4 millones de euros (43 millones de dólares) los del ejercicio 2020-2021.

El equipo italiano atribuyó el aumento de sus pérdidas principalmente a una disminución de los ingresos por derechos televisivos y de medios debido a su menor número de partidos disputados en la Liga de Campeones.

La escuadra de Turín sucumbió ante Villarreal en la primera fase de eliminación automática en la Liga de Campeones de la temporada pasada.

Los Bioanconeri también perdieron sus primeros dos partidos de la Liga de Campeones de esta temporada —ante Paris-Saint Germain y Benfica— y únicamente han ganado dos de siete encuentros de la Serie A.

El pasado fin de semana, Juventus perdió ante el recién ascendido Monza y el revés ha puesto en duda la continuidad del entrenador Massimiliano Allegri.
