Una corte española ha anulado las medidas que protegían a los clubes que querían crear una Superliga europea de fútbol de sanciones de la UEFA y FIFA.

En documentos judiciales a los que tuvo acceso The Associated Press el jueves, un tribunal en Madrid dice que anula la protección legal porque incluso una sanción no les impediría seguir adelante con el plan de crear una competencia fuera del control de la UEFA.

De los 12 clubes que querían constituir originalmente la Superliga, solo los españoles Real Madrid y Barcelona y el italiano Juventus aún respaldan abiertamente su creación.

El fallo de la jueza Sofía Gil dice que “no consta mínimamente acreditado que la amenaza e imposición de sanciones a los tres clubes subsistentes conlleve la necesaria imposibilidad de ejecutar el proyecto”.

Gil descartó el argumento de que las sanciones de los organismos rectores del fútbol frustrarían la financiación de la Superliga.

El fallo es apelable.

En abril del año pasado, otro juez español ordenó a la FIFA y la UEFA que se abstuvieran de tomar medida alguna o emitir un comunicado que impida u obstaculice, directa o indirectamente, la preparación de la Superliga europea.

La sentencia fue en respuesta a las amenazas de que los equipos de la Superliga serían excluidos de la Liga de Campeones.
