Aaron Judge conectó su 25to jonrón de la campaña, para liderar las mayores, y los Yanquis de Nueva York hilvanaron su 13ra victoria como locales, al superar el miércoles 4-3 a los Rays de Tampa Bay.

Tras un boleto intencional, Kyle Higashioka bateó un cuadrangular de tres carreras, por Nueva York.

El cubano Néstor Cortés (6-2) superó a Shane McClanahan en un duelo de abridores estelares con efectividad inferior a 2.00. Clay Holmes igualó el récord del equipo, establecido por el legendario panameño Mariano Rivera, de 28 apariciones consecutivas sin tolerar anotación.

Los Yanquis líderes de las Grandes Ligas, han ganado seis compromisos al hilo y 13 de 14 en general. La foja de 46-16 que ostenta Nueva York es la mejor que ha tenido después de 62 juegos desde 1998.

Y la seguidilla de 13 victorias en casa es la más prolongada que ha tenido desde 1973, cuando jugaba en el Yankee Stadium original.

El juego se interrumpió 17 minutos en la parte alta de la octava entrada, en una disputa sobre un cambio de pitcher, después de que el cubano Randy Arozarena recibió un pelotazo de Miguel Castro, cuando los Yanquis ganaban por 4-1.
