El novato Nick Fortes conectó un jonrón solitario con dos outs en la parte baja del noveno inning y los Marlins de Miami vencieron el domingo 3-2 a los Mets de Nueva York.

Fortes depositó un pitcheo en cuenta de 0-1 del relevista Adam Ottavino (2-2) en las gradas del jardín izquierdo. Miami evitó la barrida de tres juegos ante los líderes de la División Este de la Liga Nacional.

El relevista de Miami Tanner Scott (3-2) expidió un boleto a J.D. Davis al abrir el noveno. Davis avanzó tras un lanzamiento descontrolado y quedó en tercera tras un rodado de Luis Guillorme con un out. Scott ponchó a James McCann para maniatar la ameneza de los Mets.

Nueva York bateó un hit en 13 oportunidades con corredores en posición de anotar.
