Cole Irvin permitió cuatro hits a lo largo de siete innings y los Atléticos de Oakland se impusieron el miércoles 4-2 sobre los Astros de Houston, para lograr su primera barrida en 32 series de esta temporada.

Oakland, que tiene la peor foja de la Liga Americana (38-63), ganó tres compromisos consecutivos a Houston (64-35), que lidera la División Oeste del Joven Circuito.

Oakland ha ganado seis de sus últimos ocho encuentros ante los Astros.

Houston fue barrido en una serie por primera vez desde la que disputó del 24 al 26 de septiembre, también en Oakland. El cubano Yordan Álvarez disparó su 29no cuadrangular.

Stephen Vogt y Stephen Piscotty conectaron vuelacercas en el segundo inning, ante rectas seguidas del dominicano Cristian Javier (6-6). Tony Kemp sumó tres hits, incluido un doble remolcador.
