Hertz planea ordenar hasta 175.000 vehículos eléctricos de General Motors en los próximos cinco años.

El acuerdo anunciado el martes abarca modelos como camionetas SUV y pickup, así como automóviles de lujo de las marcas Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac y BrightDrop.

A inicios del año entrante se esperan envíos de vehículos Chevrolet Bolt EV y Bolt EUV.

“Estamos entusiasmados de asociarnos con GM en esta iniciativa, que aumentará pronunciadamente la oferta de vehículos eléctricos para los clientes de Hertz, para uso de negocios o placer, para transporte colectivo y corporativo”, declaró en un comunicado el CEO de Hertz, Stephen Scherr.

Hertz mantiene su meta de tener una cuarta parte de su flota con motores eléctricos para fines de 2024.

La CEO de GM, Mary Barra, vaticinó que el acuerdo creará más clientes de vehículos eléctricos.

“Con las opciones que estamos ofreciendo en cuanto a vehículos, tecnologías y distancias, confío en que cada alquiler aumentará la consideración de nuestros productos e impulsará el crecimiento de nuestra compañía”, afirmó.

GM dijo el año pasado que planea pasar su producción totalmente a vehículos eléctricos para 2035.
