Myles Straw rompió un empate con un doble de dos carreras en el 11mo y los Guardianes derrotaron el martes 10-7 a los Medias Blancas de Chicago, para dar un paso más hacia el título del Centro de la Liga Americana.

Los Guardianes ampliaron su ventaja sobre los Medias Blancas a cinco juegos, con 14 aún por disputar.

Straw logró su hit decisivo ante Jake Diekman (5-4) y Steven Kwan siguió con su cuarto hit, un sencillo remolcador, para impulsar a Straw. Kwan anotó en un elevado de sacrificio de José Ramírez y un error de lanzamiento del catcher de Chicago Seby Zavala permitió anotar a Amed Rosario con una carrera para asegurar.

La victoria fue para Emmanuel Clase (3-4), aunque permitió la carrera del empate de José Abreu en el 10mo y falló su cuarta oportunidad de salvamento en 40 ocasiones. Bryan Shaw se sobrepuso a un jonrón de dos carreras de AJ Pollock en la parte baja del 11mo.
