Ja Morant sumó 21 puntos y nueve asistencias en su retorno tras una dolencia en la rodilla derecha, Dillon Brooks anotó 23 tantos y los Grizzlies de Memphis aplastaron el sábado 141-114 a los Pelicans de Nueva Orleans.

Memphis llegó a 56 victorias, para empatar el récord del equipo, impuesto en la temporada 2012-13.

Tras perderse nueve partidos, Morant disputó casi 27 minutos y los Grizzlies, segundos preclasificados, contaron de vuelta con su alineación titular cuando se alistan para la postemporada. El domingo cierran la campaña regular ante Boston.

Brandon Clarke agregó 20 unidades por Memphis, al acertar sus 10 tiros de campo. Ziaire Williams sumó 19 puntos y Desmond Bane finalizó con 18. Los Grizzlies anotaron más del 60% de sus tiros de campo en tres periodos y pusieron fin a una racha de dos derrotas.

CJ McCollum lideró a Nueva Orleans con 16 tantos, pero anotó sólo 6 de 17 tiros de campo. Willy Hernangomez agregó 15 puntos y 10 tablas y Jaxson Hayes totalizó 13.

Los Pelicans, que intentan asegurar el noveno puesto para el minitorneo clasificatorio a los playoffs, jugaron sin su máximo anotador Brandon Ingram. Se perdió su segundo duelo consecutivo debido a un problema de rigidez en el tendón de la corva.
