Bryce Harper conectó tres indiscutibles ante su antiguo equipo y los Filis de Filadelfia derrotaron el viernes 5-3 a los Nacionales de Washington, en el primer encuentro de una doble cartelera.

Los Filis lograron su 13ra victoria en 15 partidos, una racha que contrasta con la mala campaña de los Nacionales.

Nick Castellanos remolcó dos carreras y anotó otra para los Filis, que llevan foja de 12-2 con el piloto interino Rob Thomson.

Filadelfia ostenta una racha de 10 victorias sobre los Nacionales y es la más larga contra el equipo desde las 10 en fila que logró contra los Expos de Montreal en 1991.

Harper aumentó su promedio de bateo a .323.

Washington ha sufrido seis descalabros al hilo y su marca de 23-44 es la peor en la Liga Nacional.

El partido se disputó en una tarde calurosa de casi 33 grados centígrados (91 Fahrenheit) y sustituyó a uno pospuesto debido al paro patronal.

Los Filis otorgaron una ventaja de 2-0 a su abridor, el venezolano Ranger Suárez (5-4), antes de que éste subiera al montículo gracias a las dos carreras que Castellanos produjo con un doble propinado al dominicano Joan Adon (1-11).

Por los Nacionales, los venezolanos César Hernández de 5-2 y Keibert Ruiz de 2-0. Los dominicanos Juan Soto de 4-0; Nelson Cruz de 3-0, una anotada; Maikel Franco de 4-1 y Víctor Robles de 3-2, una anotada.
