Gracias a un triplete del suplente Rafa Mir, España derrotó el sábado en un alargue 5-2 a Costa de Marfil y avanzó a semifinal del fútbol masculino de los Juegos Olímpicos.

Lo del atacante del Wolverhampton Wanderers inglés fue salvador. Entró en el complemento y metió el tanto con el que empató el partido 2-2 en el tercero minuto de reposición, para mandar el choque a tiempo extra.

Mikel Oyarzabal, de penal, puso arriba a España a los 98 minutos y luego Mir sentenció con sus dos dianas postreras a los 117 y 120.

La Roja, que llegó a Japón con seis de los jugadores que accedieron a las semifinales del pasado Campeonato Europeo, se complicó de entrada, al encajar un temprano gol del marfileño Eric Bailly a los tres minutos. Dani Olmo lo empató a los 30.

Costa de Marfil volvió a adelantarse en el primer minuto de los descuentos del segundo tiempo mediante el gol de Max Gradel.

España se medirá en semis contra el ganador del choque entre Japón y Nueva Zelanda.

La Roja ibérica busca su segundo oro en el fútbol olímpico masculino, tras el ganado en Barcelona 1992.
