La Casa Blanca será una sala de conciertos el viernes por la noche para una actuación del astro británico Elton John. El evento lleva el título de “A Night When Hope and History Rhyme”, una referencia a un poema de Seamus Heaney que el presidente Joe Biden cita a menudo.

La presentación en el Jardín Sur es organizada por A+E Networks y el History Channel. De acuerdo con la Casa Blanca, entre el público asistente habrá maestros, enfermeros, activistas por los derechos gay y otros.

Se prevé que Biden y su esposa Jill Biden digan algunas palabras.

Trabajadores han estado montando un escenario en el jardín de la Casa Blanca en preparación para el concierto.

Aunque estrellas como Elton John evitaron la Casa Blanca cuando Donald Trump era presidente, Biden ha tenido ocasionalmente músicos invitados. Más recientemente, James Taylor cantó varias canciones en un evento la semana pasada en celebración de la aprobación de leyes que lidian con los precios de los medicamentos por prescripción, el cambio climático y otros asuntos.
