Los Dodgers de Los Ángeles rendirán un homenaje a Vin Scully este viernes, en una ceremonia previa al juego ante los Padres de San Diego

Los Dodgers de Los Ángeles rendirán un homenaje a Vin Scully este viernes, en una ceremonia previa al juego ante los Padres de San Diego.

El cronista, miembro del Salón de la Fama, falleció el martes a los 94 años. Narró los juegos en Brooklyn y Los Ángeles durante 67 años, como el comentarista con la gestión más larga en cualquier deporte profesional.

Scully recibirá honores en varios lugares del Dodger Stadium durante la misma jornada.

Detrás del palco de prensa que lleva su nombre, se mostrará la pancarta que se pintó con motivo de su último juego en el estadio, en 2016. Tiene un mensaje que dice: “Te echaré de menos”.

Y desde el 19 de agosto, se exhibirán algunos de sus anillos de la Serie Mundial. En el vestíbulo, un homenaje a Scully se añadirá a la exposición habitual.

Los Dodgers están usando ya un parche negro en el que parece la imagen de un micrófono y el nombre “Vin” en los jerseys de su uniformes. Lo seguirán portando durante el resto de la temporada.

La familia Scully está sugiriendo que se hagan donaciones a la Tunnel to Towers Foundation y a Catholic Athletes for Christ, dos organizaciones caritativas a las que Scully apoyaba.

Tunnel to Towers Foundation honra a Stephen Siller, un bombero de Brooklyn que murió en el derrumbe del World Trade Center por los atentados del 11 de septiembre de 2001.
