Yandy Díaz comenzó el juego con un cuadrangular para apoyar la segunda apertura consecutiva con victoria de Drew Rassmussen y los Rays de Tampa Bay emplearon una ofensiva equilibrada para derrotar el lunes 6-1 a los Atléticos de Oakland.

Wander Franco regresó al plantel y pegó dos sencillos anotadores tras tomarse un día de descanso para cuidar su pierna derecha.

Franco y Randy Arozarena pegaron sencillos remolcadores consecutivos en el tercero ante Daulton Jefferies (1-4) y un hit de Mike Zunino en el siguiente inning trajo consigo otra carrera de los Rays.

Manuel Margot añadió un sencillo remolcador en el quinto entre sus tres hits.

El manager de los Rays, Kevin Cash, quiere ver más bateadores que avanzan y Tampa Bay aprovechó contribuciones de todo el equipo para comenzar una gira de nueve encuentros.

Rasmussen (2-1) admitió una carrera y un hit, ponchó a tres y dio un boleto en cinco buenos innings de labor. Cuatro relevistas completaron el juego de dos horas y 37 minutos.
