Jacob deGrom ponchó a 12 y llevó el juego perfecto hasta la sexta entrada de su segunda apertura en toda la temporada al guiar a los Mets a un triunfo el domingo de 5-2 sobre los Bravos de Atlanta, la 12da victoria de Nueva York en 14 juegos.

Pete Alonso impulsó dos carreras y los Mets terminaron con 19 ponches —incluyendo tres seguidos del taponero Edwin Díaz para poner fin al encuentro. Nueva York se llevó cuatro de cinco de Atlanta en su enfrentamiento del Este de la Liga Nacional, extendiendo su ventaja divisional a seis juegos y medio sobre los campeones defensores de la Serie Mundial.

Lanzando en casa por primera vez en 13 meses, un dominante deGrom (1-0) retiró a sus primeros 17 bateadores, 12 por la vía del ponche, antes de dar base por bolas al noveno bateador Ehire Adrianza con dos outs en el sexto inning.

Dansby Swanson siguió con un jonrón de dos carreras en el 76to y último lanzamiento de deGrom, poniendo el marcador 5-2.
