Poco después de ayudar a los Warriors de Golden State a ganar el campeonato de la NBA, Stephen Curry presentará los ESPYS.

El evento, que honra a los mejores deportistas y momentos del último año, será trasmitido por la cadena ABC el 20 de julio desde Los Ángeles.

Curry, quien fue nombrado el Jugador Más Valioso de las Finales, está nominado en tres categorías, incluyendo mejor deportista masculino.

“He tenido la dicha de asistir a los ESPYS, pero nunca imaginé que tendría el privilegio de presentar este evento especial”, escribió en un comunicado.

Fuera de la cancha, Curry cofundó una empresa de multimedia que se enfoca en contenido diverso para la familia, el deporte y la fe. Unanimous Media es la productora ejecutiva del programa de reality de ABC “Holey Moley". El cofundador Erick Peyton será el co-productor ejecutivo de los ESPYS.

Los ESPYS honrarán a Vitali Klitschko, excampeón de peso pesado de boxeo y alcalde de Kiev, Ucrania, con el galardón Arthur Ashe al Valor. La sargento mayor en retiro del Ejército Gretchen Evans recibirá el premio Pat Tillman por su servicio en las Fuerzas Armadas.

El narrador de baloncesto colegial e integrante del Salón de la Fama, Dick Vitale recibirá el galardón Jimmy V a la perseverancia.
