Anthony Santander bateó un lineazo de jonrón que produjo tres carreras en la novena entrara frente a Lucas Luetge, y los Orioles de Baltimore evitaron una barrida en la serie de cuatro juegos, al imponerse el jueves 9-6 sobre los Yanquis de Nueva York.

Los Yanquis sufrieron apenas su segunda derrota en 11 compromisos. Ostentan todavía la mejor foja de las mayores, con 28-10.

Sufrieron su primera derrota en 19 juegos en los que han tenido una ventaja de cinco carreras o más durante esta campaña.

Nueva York estaba a un out de caer en la novena entrada, cuando DJ LeMahieu conectó un sencillo productor ante el taponero puertorriqueño Jorge López para igualar la pizarra 6-6.

Los Orioles respondieron. Austin Hays se embasó en un error del antesalista Josh Donaldson. Con un out, Trey Mancini bateó un sencillo y el venezolano Santander siguió con un garrotazo por todo el bosque izquierdo, para llegar a siete vuelacercas en la campaña.

El dominicano Félix Bautista (1-1) se llevó el triunfo.

Por los Yanquis, los venezolanos Gleyber Torres de 4-0, Marwin González de 4-1.

Por los Orioles, el mexicano Ramón Urías de 4-0. Los venezolanos Santander de 4-3 con tres anotadas y tres producidas, Robinson Chirinos de 4-1 con una anotada y dos impulsadas, Rougned Odor de 2-1 con una remolcada. El dominicano Jorge Mateo de 3-1 con una anotada y una empujada.
