Georgia Stanway anotó el gol del triunfo en tiempo extra para Inglaterra, que derrotó el miércoles 2-1 a España y avanzó a las semifinales de la Eurocopa de Mujeres.

Con el partido 1-1 al cabo de los 90 minutos, Stanway encontró espacio y sacó un potente disparo elevado desde afuera de la zona de penalti que venció a la portera Sandra Paños a pesar de su salto y estirada.

Después de un primer tiempo con pocas oportunidades claras de gol, Esther González puso a España arriba en el marcador a los 54 minutos tras un pase inteligente de Athenea Del Castillo.

Los cambios de la entrenadora de Inglaterra, Sarina Wiegman, fructificaron a los 84 minutos para igualar el encuentro. Alessia Russo envió un centro de cabeza a Ella Toone que remató de volea para el 1-1.

Inglaterra jugará contra Suecia o Bélgica el martes en su sexta aparición en semifinales. Inglaterra jamás ha conquistado la Eurocopa de Mujeres.
