Los Bengals de Cincinnati siguen conjurando sequías en la postemporada. Y su victoria más reciente los ha colocado en su primera final de la Conferencia Americana en 33 años.

El novato Evan McPherson convirtió un gol de campo de 52 yardas cuando el tiempo se agotaba y los Bengals, que avanzaron a los playoffs como cuartos de la Americana, dieron la sorpresa el sábado, al imponerse 19-16 sobre los Titans de Tennessee para cortar la mayor racha en activo de un equipo sin ganar como visitante en playoffs.

Una semana después de acabar con una maldición de 31 años sin ganar en postemporada, Cincinnati (12-7) se llevó finalmente su primer triunfo en casa ajena dentro de los playoffs, luego de perder los primeros siete.

Los Bengals llegaron al Super Bowl de 1981 y 1988 ganando los duelos de playoffs como locales.

Esta vez, se llevaron el triunfo gracias a tres intercepciones a pases de Ryan Tannehill que antecedieron a dos de los cuatro goles de campo conseguidos por McPherson. Luke Wilson se apoderó de un envío de Tannehill con 20 segundos restantes en la yarda 47 de Cincinnati.

Joe Burrow completó un envío de 19 yardas con Ja'Marr Chase, el receptor novato elegido al Pro Bowl antes de que los Bengals realizaran un par de acarreos que acomodaron el balón para que McPherson liquidara el duelo.
