Martín Maldonado disparó dos jonrones mientras José Altuve, Kyle Tucker y Chas McCormick conectaron uno cada uno para una gran ventaja tempranera y los Astros de Houston doblegaron el viernes 9-1 a los Angelinos de Los Ángeles.

Después de ganar 8-1 el primer partido de la serie, los Astros lograron otra aplastante victoria para ampliar su racha a cinco triunfos.

El lanzador de Houston, el mexicano, José Urquidy (7-3), concedió dos hits y una carrera, además de ponchar a ocho en seis entradas para ampliar la foja de los abridores a 7-0 en los últimos nueve encuentros.

El cotejo fue el quinto consecutivo en el que los Astros no permiten que les anoten más de una carrera.

Los Astros se pusieron en ventaja 3-0 cuando Maldonado, que sólo tenía un imparable en sus anteriores cuatro partidos, sacudió un jonrón a Patrick Sandoval (3-3) al inicio del segundo episodio.

Por los Astros, el venezolano José Altuve de 4-3, tres anotadas, una impulsada. El dominicano Jeremy Peña de 5-1. Los cubanos Jordan Álvarez de 4-0 y Juli Gurriel de 3-0. El puertorriqueño Martín Maldonado de 3-2, dos anotadas, dos remolcadas.

Por los Angelinos, el venezolano Luis Rengifo de 4-1.
