Christian Yelich y Kolten Wong pegaron jonrones por segundo juego consecutivo, Garrett Mitchell impulsó dos carreras con su primer hit como jugador de Grandes Ligas, y los Cerveceros de Milwaukee superaron el domingo 9-7 a los Cachorros de Chicago.

Mitchell, la selección de primera ronda de Milwaukee en el draft de 2020, debutó el sábado como reemplazo defensivo luego de ser llamado del equipo de Nashville en Triple A, donde bateaba para .343 con nueve carreras impulsadas en 20 juegos.

El jardinero de 23 años mandó un elevado para out en su primer turno al bate, en el tercer inning. Mitchell luego conectó un sencillo productor de dos carreras en el siguiente inning ante Sean Newcomb (2-1) para poner a Milwaukee adelante definitivamente en la pizarra, 3-2.

Yelich continuó con el ataque al mandar una bola rápida en cuenta de 0-1 sobre el muro al fondo del jardín izquierdo, su undécimo jonrón de la temporada, y Wong agregó otro cuadrangular de dos carreras en la quinta entrada para dar a los Cerveceros una ventaja de 7-4.

Eric Lauer (10-5) permitió cuatro carreras en cinco entradas, Nico Hoerner pegó un jonrón de dos carreras en la quinta.

Por los Cerveceros, el dominicano Willy Adames de 5-2 con dos anotadas. El venezolano Omar Narváez de 4-1 con una anotada.

Por los Cachorros, el dominicano Franmil Reyes de 4-2 con dos anotadas y dos impulsadas. El brasileño Yan Gomes de 3-0 con una impulsada. Los venezolanos Willson Contreras de 1-0, Rafael Ortega de 2-0. El puertorriqueño Nelson Velázquez de 2-0.
